Corinne Kussey, age 67, of Irving, N.Y., died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home with family and friends at her side.
Corinne was born September 8, 1946 in Gowanda, N.Y., to the late James A. and Angeline A. (Rizzo) LaValle. She retired from the Gowanda/Buffalo Psychiatric Center after 37 years of service.
Corinne was an avid reader, and a supporting member of many animal and environmental charities. She was a President and Treasurer of Women’s Aglow Fellowship in Gowanda.
Corinne is survived by her stepchildren: Melissa Kussey, Kelley (Dan) Benzing, and Joseph (Maricella) Kussey; grandchildren: Ashley Riley, Avery and Hayden Benzing, Jennifer Kussey, Marisa and Jeffrey Keeme; nieces and nephews: Paul (Linda) Macakanja, Lori (Joseph) DeCarlo, William (Agnes) Macakanja, Anthony (Constance) LaValle, Todd (Dawndi) LaValle, Daniel Macakanja, Tammy (James) Hassett, James (Kristy) LaValle, and Rachel (Christopher) Galati; many great-nieces and great-nephews.; and a sister in law, Donna LaValle.
Besides her parents, Corinne was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Kussey, who died June 1, 2008; a stepson, Michael Kussey; and her brother, Johnny LaValle.
Calls may be made at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, N.Y., today from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
