Fundraiser includes contest

As part of an Aug. 17 benefit for Mikey Edwards, a 26-year-old Dunkirk resident who is battling Stage 4 colon cancer, the Amazing Bar Crawl Race will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Registration begins at 11 a.m. at the Dunkirk Exempts Firemens Club on Central Avenue.

Teams may consist of up to four members at $20 per members, which includes a meal after the event.

The event will consist of visiting seven bars/clubs to answer a trivia question or riddle about the establishment being visited. Correct answers are worth 250 points and bonus points will be awarded for each team member who has a beverage at each place. Bonus points will also be awarded for arriving back at the Exempts club prior to 2 p.m.

Joining the Exempts Club in the Amazing Bar Crawl Race will be American Legion Post 62, The Fillmore, Bart’s Cove, Spike Dailey’s, The Clarion Hotel and Rookies on the Lake.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Perrysburg work session Wednesday

The Perrysburg Town Board will hold a work session on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 10460 Peck Hill Road to discuss the Town Hall heating system.

County Planning Board to hold monthly meeting

The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Gerace Office Building, Room 331, at 3 N. Erie St. in Mayville,.

VBS set for Laona U.M.

Vacation Bible School will be held at the Laona U.M. Church from monday to Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme this year is “Discovering Jesus Expedition.” There will be the Bible story, crafts, games and snacks. The program is about discovering Jesus in many ways and in many places. “Souls to Reach” puppet team will help with the program with the main character being Laona Lou. CBRDC August

meeting canceled

Due to summer vacations, training sessions, etc. Chadwick Bay Regional Development Chairman Dan Schrantz has canceled the regularly scheduled August meeting for lack of a quorum.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 11 at the host community of town of Pomfret. The agenda will include action on proposed final draft of the amended by-laws.

An official notice of the next meeting will be announced at a later date.

South Dayton Farmers’ Market is Saturday

The South Dayton Farmers’ Market is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Village Square. Available will be fresh produce, baked goods, pickles, jams, homemade aprons and other homemade items, plus Jody’s Traveling Mercantile Store.

Also this Saturday on the Village Square from 11 a.m. to noon, bring the children to enjoy “Bubbles by Narda.” Also, on the Square from 11 a.m. to noon, the children can do bubble art with Heidi Howard and her children Zachery, Sadie and Jayden. If inclement weather, the bubble art will be held in the Village Library on Park Street.

Mothers of Twins and Triplets to meet

There will be a reunion picnic of the Northern Chautauqua County Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club Monday at 6 p.m. at the home of Tina Butryn, 49 N. Roberts Road, Dunkirk.
