CIAO holds annual meeting and picnic

Despite the rain, 44 members and guests of CIAO, shared conversation and their best dish at the annual meeting and picnic held recently at Russell Joy Park. A multitude of food arranged on the center table from eggplant to pasta, various Italian salads, and of course Italian sausage and peppers. The dessert table overflowed with chocolate cake, blueberry buckle, fresh fruit and pumpkin trifle. The Italian culture embraces food and friends and none was lacking.

Laurie Detenbeck created lovely baskets with items donated by board members and each CIAO member was given a free ticket for a wine gift basket worth $50. Other baskets were available to win with the purchase of tickets. Other drawings included a 50/50 split.

President Sam Crisanti presided over a short meeting. The group discussed a different date for next year’s picnic. Lynda Mosher spoke about the community service project. Members were given a “wish list” for the Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Program. Items such as towels, sheets, crib sheets, blanket, hairbrushes, baby supplies, first aid supplies, potholders, mops, brooms, or any other item in new or usable condition including pots, pans, kitchen gadgets and other household items. Those interested in donating to this project may contact Lynda Mosher at 934-7116.
