Dunkirk takes second at Lewiston Tourney

Dunkirk’s Under-8 baseball all-star team took second in the Silver Division at the Lewiston Tournament, which was held recently. Dunkirk saved its best performance for the championship game, but ultimately came up short, losing 17-15 to North Buffalo. The coaches noted that the team exceeded any and all expectations, as it was the first competitive tournament many of the ball players had played in, while most of the other teams had played in multiple tournaments throughout the summer. Over the course of the tournament, Dunkirk played five games, scored 51 runs on 60 hits and combined for a .386 average at the plate. Pictured are members of the team.
