Former local resident to read his work at the Patterson Library

Poet and author Steve Swank will read and sign books at the Patterson Library on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 from 6 to 7 p.m. According to library personnel, Swank’s recent publication “The Horse Knows” is an accessible and-user friendly read. Those attending will be amused and delighted by his humor. Steve’s insights are sometimes poignant, sometimes humorous, and sometimes sad.

A local author, Swank was raised in Chautauqua County, living in Hartfield, Brocton, Westfield and Fredonia. He enjoyed living a rural life but now resides near New York City. Steve looks forward to spending his summers locally, living in Brocton and working at Chautauqua Institution. His poems often describe events or observations of everyday events. Those attending this reading will learn several enlightening facts about Mr. Swank including why he was reported dead and whether he did, in fact, perform for a million people.
