Fredonia yard waste pickup starts Monday

The village of Fredonia will pick up limbs and yard waste beginning Monday, unless pre-empted for road maintenance operations, in which case the scheduled pickup will resume on the next available day.

Collection will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until every village street has been collected once. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. Monday morning. In no case will there be repeat collection of areas completed.

All yard waste must be bagged and all limbs and brush must be tied with twine. Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than 4 feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight. There is no collection of loose material at this time.

Residents are reminded that it is illegal to place leaves and grass into the street at any time.

Village residents may bring bagged yard waste and bundled brush to the designated area at the DPW yard, 176 Eagle St., at any time. The dropoff area will be available until further notice. Please remember to empty your bags.

The cooperation of residents is greatly appreciated.
