Theodore E. Houser

HOUSTON, Texas – Theodore E. Houser, 84 of West Park Drive, Houston, Texas, formerly of Westfield, NY and Orlando, FL, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 of natural causes, with his loving wife by his side.He was born on De-cember 29, 1929 in Rimersburg, PA, the son of the late Theodore and Helen M (Swartz) Houser. Ted spent years in Chautauqua County prior to moving to Orlando, FL and then to Houston, Texas. Ted in his early years was avidly into dirt track car racing. He also enjoyed restoring old cars and traveling to casinos. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Rita (Castiglia) Houser, whom he married Dec. 7, 1970; four daughters, Sandy Raynor and Brenda Houser, both of Mayville, NY; Debbie (Steve) Morrello of Westfield, NY and Marsha Volker of Euclid, Ohio; and two stepsons, Jeff (Patty) Lanphere of Wildwood, FL, and Dan-ny (Denise) Lanphere of Lutz, FL. He is further sur-vived by two sisters, Donna (Charlie) Hunt of Westfield, NY and Linda (Ed) Kelley of Groveport, Ohio; and by his five brothers Darl (Jackie) Houser of Port Orange, FL, Harry “Clair” (Judy) Houser of North East, Pa., Russell Houser, Larry (AnnaMae) Houser and Charles “Fuzzy” (Sally) Houser, all of Westfield, NY. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Mekus; and a brother, Wil-liam “Red” Houser. A memorial service will be held in Westfield, NY to be announced by the family at a later date.
