Motorcycle Run and Campout for Muscular Dystrophy returns to Stockton

STOCKTON The 10th annual Motorcycle Run and Campout to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be held Aug. 29-30 at the Chautauqua County Fireman’s Fraternity Inc. Campgrounds in Stockton. This year’s event is hosted by Dunkirk Moniuszko Social Club Inc. and the Chautauqua Chapter of American Bikers Aimed Toward Education).

This event will be in honor of Erik Robbins and Brian Robbins, who have been the goodwill ambassadors for this event and suffer from this crippling and terminal disease.

The event will be in memory of:

Jane Jusko Eagan, grandmother of Erik and Brian Robbins, who passed away on March 30, 2005.

John Mt. Pleasant, who passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2009 and who was an avid supporter of MDA and the event.

Joan Burns, who passed away on Jan. 22, 2008, at the age of 36 from the disease and was an advocate for the handicapped and spearheaded the effort to make all public buildings in Dunkirk handicapped accessible;

Mike “Cash” Lancaster, founding President of Southwestern Chapter of ABATE, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in July 2005.

Richard Piatek, who passed away on Dec. 28, 2003, at the age of 33 from this disease.

Joe Lascola Jr. who passed away on May 3, 2011 and who was an avid supporter of MDA and our event.

This year’s event will begin with Bike Night on Aug. 29 with live music by Steelhorse Southern Classic Rock Music from Grand Island, performing from 6 to 10 p.m. Poorman’s Food Truck will return this year and will be on-site all weekend. The silent auction will be set up with raffles all night long.

The Motorcycle Run will be on Aug. 30. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the bikes leave the park at noon. Registration is $20 per person with the first 50 registered bikes (driver and passenger) will receive a newly designed 10th Annual commemorative T-shirt. The registration also includes a chicken BBQ dinner and refreshments after the run. On Saturday, live music by Lock Down will be provided from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffles, and big board raffle.

All proceeds raised will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Over the past nine years the event has raised $48,625 for MDA.
