The Women Who Golf For Fun – This week’s leader was Pat Daniel. Shooting for second place was Pat Kaus while third was a tie between Sue Slate and Bobbi Deering. Slate was named Golfer of the Week. The women will close their season next week, meeting at 9 a.m., teeing off at 9:30 a.m.
Following golf they will gather at Shorewood Country Club for their final after golf luncheon. In the event of inclement weather, the women should meet at Shorewood at 1 pm.
Wednesday Travel League
League Commissioner Bruce Chrabasz recorded 14 points at Holiday Valley, making him the all-time points leader on the exclusive “Commissioner’s Row.” His 508 career points are one more than the previous record holder, Commissioner Ken Trezenski. Chrabasz attributed his success to dedication, hard-work and a refusal to give up.
The low round in the league’s first-ever visit to Holiday Valley was Tony Nicosia, who shot 75. He was also low on the front nine with a 1-under par 34. Mick Dunning Sr. was low on the back nine with 38. Jack Griswold and Doug Keith won the B and C Flights, respectively. Winner of the Commissioner’s Award for a league-high sixth time this season was Chrabasz.

Softball Fall Classic Set For Sept. 6
A few spots are still available for the 16th Annual Fall Classic Men’s Slow Pitch Softball tournament on Saturday, Sept. 6 in Gowanda.
Each team is guaranteed three games. Hitters will start with a 2-1 count. Prizes and awards for each participating team.
