Board of elections reminds voters of Sept. 9 party primaries

MAYVILLE – Voters affiliated with all six of New York’s major political parties will have the opportunity to decide their party’s nominee for a newly created Chautauqua County Family Court Judge at a Sept. 9 Primary election.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation in June approving a second Family Court judgeship.

Democrats will also find Governor and Lt. Governor selections and Independence Party voters in Jamestown’s County Legislature District 12 will also have a primary.

The Primary candidates are: Democratic: Sally A. Jaroszynsk of Falconer or James Spann of Westfield for Family Court Judge; Zephyr R. Teachout, Andrew M. Cuomo, or Randy A. Credico for Governor; Kathy C. Hochul or Timothy Wu for Lieutenant Governor.

Republican: Jeffrey A. Piazza of Kiantone or Michael J. Sullivan of Fredonia for Family Court Judge. Conservative: Sullivan, Piazza or Spann for Family Court Judge. Working Families: Sullivan or Spann for Family Court Judge. Independence: Spann, Piazza or Sullivan for Family Court Judge; Elisabeth T. Rankin or Beth A. Kresge for Jamestown’s County Legislature District 12. Green: Sullivan or Spann for Family Court Judge.
