Dunkirk man allegedly kicks cop during arrest
HANOVER – A 34-year-old Dunkirk man is charged with second-degree harassment after he allegedly became disorderly and kicked a police officer while being arrested on Wednesday.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 8:15 p.m., Paul Tedford of Newell Road, Dunkirk, was pulled over by deputies who were dispatched to the area of Alleghany Road and South Shore Drive in the town of Hanover. Deputies say a report came in about a vehicle operating in a reckless manner.
After an investigation by police, it was determined that Tedford was allegedly operating the vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.
Tedford was additionally charged with driving while intoxicated, unlicensed operator and unregistered vehicle. He will appear in Hanover Town Court.
